Northwestern advertised (and interviewed) for one M&E position and one German Philosophy position. From the looks of their department website, it seems they hired 2 for M&E (one of whom is really Ancient philosophy/M&E) and no German philosophy person. Does anyone know if this is correct? Does this sort of this happen sometimes? Thanks

I know that Northwestern made an offer to Christopher Yeoman's (Assistent Prof. at Kenyon College), but Yeoman's declined the offer in order to accept an offer from Purdue. I don't know who Northwestern made an offer to after that.

The ancient philosophy hire at NU you are referring to was last year. It was just deferred by a year. I don't think you'd be able to see the names of the people hired this year for a few more months, by which time they'll probably appear on Leiter's thread.

Thanks. I'm just being nosy. A friend had an interview there, and I've been watching the Leiter but there's been no action so I thought I'd start poking around. (Those of us who didn't land interviews can suffer vicariously, no?)
